Quick rundown of what happened during the first week of our new law firm:

1. Our office isn’t ready yet. Go figure. everyone is slow, no one is getting stuff done. We worked out of a partner’s house on a folding table. We got work done and most importantly we have

2. CLIENTS! We were retained on a federal case, and got a bunch of local cases. I was referred an asylum case so hopefully we can start building our immigration practice as well.

3. We have free time. We work all day, and I’ve actually been home to have dinner with husband three times last week. I haven’t been across the table from him (except if we’ve met at Chipotle) in about 6 months.

On a side note: There’s been some personal crap going on that’s kept me a bit distracted. I’m debating on whether or not to blog about it. It might be of interest to some, but then its pretty difficult to talk about. Maybe that’s why it needs to be said?

This morning I’ve got court, then meetings with accountants, then a meeting with our potential new secretary. Our original potential new secretary got overwhelmed and quit after two days with us at the folding table. I’m glad she told us she couldn’t do this now rather than later. Hopefully the one we are meeting today will be up for the task.

Late for court!
