Three days ago (was it three or two, I’ve lost track of the days – kind of like summer vacation) I wrote an e-mail to the Mayor of this fair city of mine. I told him that while I thought this place was pretty cool, there was a serious lack of garbage cans for disposing of things like doggie doo (and dead bodies). Anyway, I got a pat response back saying “thank you for your e-mail, I’ll forward it to someone who cares even less than I do”. Well! LO! As I was walking to the apartment yesterday there it was. All bright and shiny and new. With a big BELIEVE sticker on the front of it. Right in the middle of MY BLOCK!!! MY GARBAGE CAN!!! And, it was already halfway full. People were using it! They were putting their trash in this garbage can that I single handedly provided for them. Well, not so much single handedly because someone had to come out and put it there and stuff, but you know what I mean. I think I’m going to start being like Tom on Tom goes to the Mayor.

Maybe I’ll run for city council. And then they can write a biography about me that says “It all started with a garbage can”
