So, Rockville and contract work. . . yeah. There’s a lot to tell, more than I can do right now since it’s 7 am and I have to make the at least one hour trek to there and I’m hoping to hear more about the ins and outs of this contract work world today. I heard a bunch of stuff yesterday, some of it was good (like you can make 30k in 7 weeks with mandatory overtimes for some firms) some of it was bad (one agency, could be the one I’m with but who knows, is cheap and will negotiate low pay for its employees in order to get the contracts – this makes sense to me, but hey, what do I know). There seems to be in-fighting and competition and all sorts of intrigue and you know, I don’t like to denigrate my fellow lawyers but sheesh, that’s all I’m going to say for now. When I’ve got more time I will give you a detailed report on contract work, what it entails, and how to navigate its maze.
For now, I’m going back to Rockville despite Mr. Stipe’s warning.
