We’ve got this new thing called Homeland Security, and I have to tell you that now that I’ve seen some of the inner workings of it, I’m not feeling very secure. None of the branches talk to each other, they have no idea what’s going on and there is constant bickering and turf war. For example, I had a fed. client charged with some minor type of alien smuggling. We worked it out so he got time served. He is a landed canadian immigrant, but is orginially from Dominican Republic. The guy had an immigration detainer on him and as soon as he was released from the local jail, whatever branch of Homeland Security it is that is responsible for dumping people back over the border did just that, they took him from the jail and dumped him back in Canada.

Meanwhile, in a land called immigration court in Buffalo, a judge signed a deportation order for the guy, deporting him from the U.S. to the Dominican Republic because he failed to appear at his deportation hearing. Well, dear judge, he failed to appear at his deportation hearing because he was already DEPORTED back to Canada! Where he lives! Duhhhh!!!!
