I am in the midst of our night fight – aka trying to get the twin terrors to bed. I hear yacob trying to get yonas to get out of bed and lie down on the floor. I think he has some superior powers of persuasion. I see car dealer or lawyer in his future.

In any event, you are being treated to this mobile blog update because of a very exciting development in immigration/criminal defense law. Today, in Padilla v. Kentucky, scotus decided that immigrants were entitled to effective legal representation! Alas, not in immigration court (but I have a feeling that's coming too) but in criminal court. If your lawyer don't know nothing about what might happen to your immigration status if you plead guilty to a crime, and you have to face immigration consequences because of that bad advice, you have recourse. Yippee for good lawyering!! Boohisss on those who know enough to be dangerous.

Gideon keep blowing that horn.
